Today Dylan took Spur to Perrydale Trails LLC for a trainer's clinic. It was Spur's first adventure off-farm and he gave me some action shots during warm-up as he got some youthful nonsense out of his system. He settled down decently and for being a first outing, he really handled the day well despite being a little frustrating for Dylan. We have virtually no showing experience so this clinic was really helpful giving us the how-to's and tips. Hopefully we'll make it back soon to practice with more of the obstacles!
Just in case Dylan and Spur have made this whole thing look easy, here are some shots that show a bit of what you sometimes have to work through.
This is probably my favorite shot of the day and is also among my favorites of the summer. It captured so well how completely focused in the moment these two are. Dylan's impressed me over and over with how sharp he is with his timing and feel for someone who's brand new to training!
The weird sheep had Spur pretending he's an Arabian.
